Research and Development of Electronic Voting Systems based on Formal Methods of Risk Assessment and Management focusing on the drawing of Public Confidence

 

PNYKA system was the winner of eVoting Competition

On June 13th 2008, RA CTI submitted the "PNYKA" eVoting system (http://pnyka.cti.gr/) at the "eVoting Competition 2008" organized by the Competence Center for Electronic Voting and Participation (http://www.e-voting.cc/) sponsored by Internet Foundation Austria (IFA). The Competition targeted non-commercial, internet eVoting systems fully developed using open source tools and takes place for the first time in Europe.

According to the decision of a top class, international jury of experts published on July 14th 2008, PNYKA system is one of the three finalists. The other two finalist systems are developed by an austrian and a german team respectively.

The three systems were presented on 6 August 2008, in Bregenz, Austria, within the 3rd International Conference on eVoting (http://www.e-voting.cc/topics/conference2008/). Also, a eVoting process demonstration was scheduled followed by an open "Questions & Answers" session up to the jury of experts. After the completion of the evaluation process, the jury decided that PNYKA system was the winner of the competition.
